David Finckel on my recent Kings Place Concert

DF head shot 1
David Finckel

What a great pleasure it was for me to work with David Finckel.

I’m really touched that he made the following comment:

Performing as part of the Josephine Knight and Friends ensemble was both a pleasure and an inspiration.

Both her artistry and generosity of spirit shine through, and she creates a palpable, natural chemistry between audience and musicians.

I hope someday to make another contribution towards one of her well-conceived and beautifully executed projects.”

There will be also an evening concert where I will be performing with Mikhail Nemtsov ; works by Martinu, Debussy and Chopin. There is no need to book ahead, click here for venue details.

The concert starts at 7pm in the Dukes Hall, Royal Academy of Music on 18th November.

Teaching and what it brings

Tutorial by Josephine Knight

Teaching is a great passion of mine. I have now been a Professor at the Royal Academy of Music in London for over 10 years and I am invited worldwide to give masterclasses and teach.

My musical upbringing as a child and my studies in America formed my belief that as a teacher I aim to give all my students the technical foundation in order for them to think independently and shine as an individual musician.

More on technical issues, shifting and the A-Z of getting around the cello….
