[Audio] The Protecting Veil by John Tavener
St. Emilion Festival
Gosh what an absolutely beautiful place St. Emillion is!
I have just returned from playing at the Festival there,
working with Jeremy Menuhin and Raphael Oleg.
We played many masterpieces from the Chamber Music repertoire
including the Mozart G minor Piano quartet, Beethoven Piano Trio in C minor
and Brahms` A major piano Quartet. A piece that doesn`t show its face that much.
It was a great pleasure to work with Jeremy Menuhin for the first time and to meet Mooky Menuhin too. Raphael Oleg, an friend and colleague I have shared many a concert platform with, is the perfect chamber music partner, both inspiring and generous.
Eating Foie Gras and drinking fine wine!! A perfect week all round.
Announcement: appointment of the Alfredo Piatti Chair at the Royal Academy of Music
It is with a great sense of honour that I have accepted the Alfredo Piatti Chair of Cello at the Royal Academy of Music.
I am both thrilled and delighted to take up this prestigious position and look forward immensely to working with my distinguished colleagues.
